SIGMA Clermont Professor Visits KMUTNB for Internship Evaluation and Future Collaboration

On August 25, 2025, Professor Xavier Balandraud, Professor at SIGMA Clermont, France, and Head of the MID Orientation (Structures and Materials) at the Institut Pascal Laboratory, visited King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).

The purpose of the visit was to monitor and assess the internship evaluation of Ms. Chloé Lapuente, a student from SIGMA Clermont, who has been undertaking her internship at KMUTNB from March 3, 2025, to August 29, 2025.

Her internship project, entitled “Study of Rolling Contact Fatigue Behavior of AISI1050 Steel Using the Finite Element Method”, is supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyorose Promdirek, Department of Materials and Production Technology Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, KMUTNB.

During the visit, Professor Balandraud also discussed opportunities for future academic and research collaboration between SIGMA Clermont and KMUTNB. The exchange of ideas focused on strengthening partnerships in the fields of materials science, structural engineering, and advanced computational methods, with the aim of developing joint projects, student internships, and potential research networks.

This visit reflects the ongoing commitment of KMUTNB to enhance international cooperation and provide students with enriched opportunities for academic, cultural, and professional development.
