PE1

Thailand has rapidly expanded its industrial capability and become a major production country in South East Asia. As the first academic institute to recognize the importance of international-standard production engineers to the country, in 1981, KMUTNB developed Production Engineering curriculum with endorsement from German government. The Department of Production Engineering (PE) was officially founded in October 1984 with curriculum follows European Production Engineering programs, emphasizing on production processes, machine tools, materials science, measurements, robotics and automation, and production planning and management.

Today PE consists of 34 faculty, 12 administrative staffs, engineers, and technicians, more than 500 undergraduate students, and over 50 graduate students. Faculty and staffs are experts in their fields and create great national and global impacts with contribution in terms of publications, consultation, trainings, and certification. Supporting facilities and resources include eleven machine shops and laboratories, two research centers, and student offices and project rooms. With the mission to produce graduates with knowledge and skills, conduct research, and service industry for manufacturing development in global level, PE are determined to be the leader in academic, research, and innovation in Manufacturing.

What is Production Engineers?
Production engineers understand the overall production process and apply suitable manufacturing procedure, involving material selection, process design, robotic and automatic system, quality control, and manufacturing management.
