Faculty of Engineering Welcomes Three International Interns from Université Bourgogne Europe, France
Bangkok, Thailand — The Faculty of Engineering at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) is delighted to announce the arrival of three visiting scholars joining our academic community from the esteemed Université Bourgogne Europe in France.
We proudly welcome Mr. Mathias Pucheu, Ms. Flavie Weitzel, and Ms. Samira Simo Domche, who will be completing comprehensive exchange programs with us from April 20, 2026, through mid-August 2026.
Advancing Interdisciplinary Innovation
During their time at KMUTNB, these scholars will immerse themselves in our vibrant campus culture while working closely with our esteemed faculty members to advance research across multiple engineering disciplines:
-
Mr. Mathias Pucheu: Immersive Virtual Reality Development Working within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mr. Pucheu will be under the expert supervision of Assoc. Prof. Catereeya Suwannasri. His technical work will focus on assisting in the design and development of immersive Virtual Reality (VR) environments using specialized software. He will collaborate directly with our technical teams to integrate 3D models and assets into VR experiences and conduct rigorous testing sessions to identify bugs and optimize the user experience across various VR headsets.
-
Ms. Flavie Weitzel: Materials and Production Technology Joining the Department of Materials and Production Technology Engineering, Ms. Weitzel will be working under the dedicated supervision of Asst. Prof. Piyorose Promdirek. She will utilize our faculty’s advanced facilities to expand her academic and practical experience in the critical fields of materials science and production technology.
-
Ms. Samira Simo Domche: Advanced Materials Simulation Also joining the Department of Materials and Production Technology Engineering under the expert supervision of Asst. Prof. Piyorose Promdirek, Ms. Simo Domche will focus on specialized computational research. Her primary project is titled “Numerical Simulation of Shot Peening Using the Finite Element Method (FEM),” which will leverage advanced simulation techniques to evaluate material stress and performance.
Fostering Cross-Cultural Academic Exchange
Hosting these international scholars from Université Bourgogne Europe continues to strengthen our global academic networks and enriches the learning environment for our entire community. We encourage all faculty, staff, and students to extend a warm KMUTNB welcome to Mathias, Flavie, and Samira as they integrate into our campus life over the coming months.
